Privacy & GDPR
The story you give us is yours. We only hold what we need to make your song.
1. Who we are
Songzy is a personalised-song service operated in the European Union. You can reach us at hello@songzy.eu.
2. What we collect
- Order data: your email, the recipient's first name, your relationship, and the free-text story you provide.
- Payment metadata: handled by Stripe. We receive only a token and the last four digits — never your full card number.
- Analytics: page views and CTA clicks (anonymised, aggregated). No cross-site tracking.
- Operational emails: transactional messages about your order.
3. Legal basis
Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of the contract (making your song); Article 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and improving the product.
4. How long we keep it
- Stories & briefs: 90 days after delivery, then deleted.
- Delivered audio & lyrics: kept in your customer account as long as you want it, deleted on request within 14 days.
- Billing records: 10 years as required by EU tax law.
5. Who we share it with
Only the processors required to deliver your order: Stripe (payments), our email provider (delivery), and our AI music generation partner. Each has a signed Data Processing Agreement. We never sell or trade personal data.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR / UK DPA you can request: access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, and restriction of processing. You may also file a complaint with your national data protection authority. Contact hello@songzy.eu — we respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use first-party functional cookies (language preference, cart draft) and, with your consent, lightweight privacy-respecting analytics. A cookie banner lets you accept or reject. Preferences can be changed at any time via the footer “Cookie preferences” button.
8. International transfers
Some processors are located outside the EEA. Where relevant, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the European Commission.
9. Updates
When we materially change this policy we'll notify customers by email. Last updated: April 2026.
